What is Tofaan?
It means Storm or Cyclone and widely used in Arabic & Indian Subcontinent.
Is the name Tofaan used to signify a revolution?
Revolution implies a sudden & complete change of an exiting system. On the contrary, Tofaan is used to demonstrate a process of unlimited & unconstrained thinking.
As an analogy, during a fierce storm, the dust along with all the buried objects, rises up in the atmosphere, exposing all that existed but was hidden from the sight. With the force of the wind, it appears to smash these unwanted debris with what we had built recently but now being damaged. When the storm subsides, what is left is all that was strong enough to withstand the past & the present, while some of the past becomes visible again.
Thus, Tofaan is kind of whirlwind of tradition & modern, past & present, seen & unseen, keeping all kinds of contrary ideas in the faculty of one's mind.
